Kazimir, Kazmir Alkhimovich
Kazimierz Alchimovicz is one of the most brilliant representatives of the Polish and Belarussian late romanticism and realism painting. Many atist’s canvases depict various aspects of the Belarussians’ and the Poles’ everyday life during different history stages. His artistic inspiration came mainly from peasant life and history that’s why he is considered to be a respectable representative of belarussian-polish late 19th century painting.
Education
- Received a full primary and secondary education in Vilnius gymnasium. Worked as an estate manager near Kyiv and was banished for 6 years to Siberia due to the participation in the January uprising in 1868. After his return studied art in the sWojciech Gerson's studio in Warsaw (1870es) , was awarded two silver medals by the Imperial Academy of Arts. He continued studying art in the studios of Alexander von Wagner in Munich (1873–1875).

After receiving education in Vilnius he worked as an estate manager near Kyiv and was banished for 6 years to Siberia due to the participation in the January uprising in 1868.
After his return he decided to continue studying arts which improved his artistic skills.
From the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century exhibited at the Salon and World’s fairs (Paris, France), Society of Painters’ Encouragement (Saint-Petersburg, Russia), Vilnius Artistic Association. Also participated in Warsaw, Munich, Odessa and Vienna exhibitions.

He is considered to be the last representative of romanticism in polish painting. The events of the January Uprising as well as the Poles' deportation to Siberia were influenced dramatically on his craftmanship and became the main subjects of his canvases.
